Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Road Service $2,500 Sign, Up to $45/hour Turquoise Trucking , a local trucking company that has been in business for ten years, is looking to expand its team and is seeking qualified mobile diesel technicians. This position would require you to work on Turquoise Trucking vehicles (semi trucks and trailers) at the shop as well as provide roadside support. You will be provided with a service truck and on-call phone to perform mobile roadside assistance to customers in eastern Iowa. A knowledge of mobile roadside assistance, diesel diagnostic software, and minor/medium/heavy duty repairs is required. Qualifications 2 years of experience and/or training in semi tractor and trailer maintenance and repair or the equivalent combination of education and experience Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and weekends as needed Knowledge of mobile roadside assistance, diesel mechanic software, and minor/medium/heavy duty repairs Proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components and more difficult repairs as it pertains to tractor maintenance (including but not limited to, the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections) A/C Certification DOT certified in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes GED or High School Diploma Valid Driver’s License Responsibilities Perform basic maintenance, service, and repair to Turquoise Trucking tractors and other equipment Technicians much be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure each piece of equipment meets Turquoise Trucking standards Accurately perform intermediate level repairs and maintenance to company and manufacturer specifications Complete work orders and demonstrate an understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines Maintain professional communication with Turquoise Trucking personnel and other customers Understand and effectively follow all shop procedures Willingness to drive to client sites or breakdown locations to perform repairs Ability to diagnose tractor issues and observe for unreported problems as well as troubleshoot tractor issues Work independently and seek assistance as needed May assist with the onboarding and training of new technicians Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Schedule Day shift Evening shift Night shift On call Overnight shift Overtime Weekend availability Supplemental pay types Signing bonus Experience: Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) Work Location: One location Date posted: 03/05/2023
