We are looking for a driven self-starter who enjoys working with people and creatively solving problems. Candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and understand the importance of remaining compassionate and empathetic when dealing with the problems of others. This job is requires a balance of skills including; investigation, attention to detail, root cause analysis, customer service, and relationship building. Candidate's ability to quickly adapt through use of leadership, communication skills, and responsiveness are paramount to the success of our team.
This position is for a Second Shift Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at our Cedar Rapids manufacturing location. The position will support manufacturing test and other manufacturing aspects. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process and supplier issues. Successful candidates have familiarity with LEAN principles and processes.
Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications of moderately complex products.


  • Work with Design Engineers to analyze and resolve design tolerance problems. Coordinate design changes or improvements with Design Engineering.


  • Evaluate, select and recommend capital test equipment when appropriate using sound cost/payback analysis.


  • Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs.


  • Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failures.


  • Intermediate use and application of standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processes.


  • Develop implement and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top level product for moderately difficult product lines.


  • Provide technical assistance and training support to floor test technicians.


  • Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversees accurate change management procedures for test documents for assigned products.


  • Develop working knowledge of moderately difficult test systems and hardware.


    Basic Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR ---


    • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required


    • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.


    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder


      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Experience with Root Cause Analysis


      • Experience with Lean Sigma principles


      • Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
