Responsibilities

Purchasing Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Summary: The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to the company's inventory policies. Performs all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and governmental requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support and implement the strategic vision for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory
Develop and support new processes, procedures, and systems
Coordinate and support the supply needs of all departments of Iowa Premium as needed
Works with maintenance to identify critical spares and ensure adherence to proper sourcing programs to minimize any potential impact to Operations
Work with Purchasing Manager to document process flows and work toward cost savings objectives
Coordinate the process for receiving inventory
Ensure that materials existing are recorded in inventory at appropriate values
Ensure proper warehousing, storage and disbursement of equipment and materials are managed correctly
Oversee the cycle count process for all MRO inventory
Maintains a clear and concise understanding of all inventory
Establish key metrics to track inventory utilization
Establish and maintain disposition programs for obsolete inventory with no turns
Perform reviews of inventory usage to establish the proper inventory levels and provide recommendations to Maintenance and Plant Managers on how to improve inventory turns and reduce inventory balances
Lead and motivate direct reports to implement strategies that help to develop a best-in-class Inventory Organization
Coordinate with local facilities to ensure adherence to the proper work order process as well as ensuring the proper process is taking place for repairs
Work in conjunction with the Supply to create cost savings and business relationships
Manage a team of 6 to 8 employees with 24/7 coverage

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Purchasing Supervisor position should possess the following:
2+ years of leadership experience
3-5 years of inventory experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Logistics, Business Administration or related field
Experience may substitute for education
BPCS experience preferred but not required
Flexible, can-do attitude is a must
Knowledgeable on personal computers and Microsoft Office software
