Our client is a rapidly growing and financially healthy company within the field of material processing. Due to rapid growth, our client needs supply chain specialists and professional processes. The employee is working closely with both the supply chain team at the site in Marion and in New Jersey and also with the teams in production and logistics. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions --- All Teammates are accountable for their ownership of safety and to encourage safety program compliance with all co-workers --- Generate purchase orders with suppliers based upon sales orders, production schedules, and forecasts. --- Manage and direct supply chain activities to ensure on time completion of customer requirements. --- Negotiate terms and conditions, best value pricing and obtain competitive quotes to assure the most economical price consistent with quality and delivery requirements. --- Supplier selection; assess supplier capabilities, visit suppliers to investigate facilities, capacity and ability to meet MPS requirements. --- Identifies strategic supply base partners to leverage spend, develop respectful relationships and create a mutually beneficial business environment. --- Meets with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, provide performance feedback, or to discuss business climate. --- Monitor and communicate key industry developments and trends, make recommendations for strategic material purchases to mitigate the negative impact of raw material fluctuations. --- Develops and reviews key performance indicators and adjusts inventory management policies as necessary to meet strategic objectives. Generate various reports for management on a weekly, monthly, annual basis as needed. --- Research, identify, implement and manage lean inventory, just-in-time or other appropriate inventory management programs. --- Work with outside suppliers and warehouse personnel to maintain accurate inventory. --- Work closely with planning to expedite items as necessary to meet build demand schedules and customer on-time delivery. --- Proactively react to production problems to ensure on-time delivery of quality products. Perform follow-up and consult with suppliers regarding late deliveries. --- Supports procurement activities in the product development stage to ensure the supply base is capable of providing quality products in a production setting. --- Conceptualizes and suggests opportunities for standardization and consolidation of products or suppliers. --- Assist in the development and enforcement of inventory policies and procedures. Required Skills --- College Degree in Supply Chain or Engineering combined with experience within supply chain management --- Able to conduct themselves appropriately and professionally --- Strong communication and interpersonal skills --- Customer focused. --- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers. --- Detail-oriented. --- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. --- Drive for continuous improvement. --- Self-motivated. --- Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities with strict deadlines. --- Ability to analyze, identify & then follow up to resolve discrepancies. --- Ability to make sound decisions and seek buy-in from others. ---Strong work ethic with a positive attitude. ---Ability to decipher the immediacy of problems and determine an effective resolution for the issue.
