To support that challenge, the Corn Seed Production and Operations Team is currently seeking a Seed Corn Production Technician in Lone Tree, IA. At Syngenta, we strive to build collaborative teams with individuals that have a deep understanding of what it means to be part of a successful team. In the Agricultural Industry there will be extended working hours during time sensitive periods of the year. This is where the collaboration comes in. Every member of our team pitches in to help out in all areas to ensure that all seed is properly handled and tested so the highest quality seed will be packaged to meet sale demands. During these times, you may be requested to assist in any of the following areas; Laboratory Production, Plant Operations, Seed receiving, Harvest Operations, and Field Agronomy activities. Accountabilities Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelinesAssist in presentation of all safety training classesOversee employees and third party personnel as requiredBalance KPI's to meet the annual improvement objectivesEnsure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspectedAll seed picked and transported to specified area is identified accurately and checked against production orderFill all orders per production order instructionsConduct Product Simulation (PS) testing, internal field audit and quality checksCoordinate field inspection program and self-certification requirementsTrack and monitor potential quality lots through disposition of productResponsible for product quality assessments and adherence to product specificationsDuring growing season will be assigned production area to monitor seed quality through field inspections and record keepingSupport Agronomists in field related activities as directedPooling and distribution of parent seed to grower basePlanting of seed production fields and parent seed returnsAssist with field mapping and isolation documentation requirementsAccurate and timely SAP and Data collection entry during the field productions seasonEnsure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixtureQualificationsRequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredValid Driver's License with a clean driving record required.Ability and willingness to work OT as needed to meet demandForklift Certified, or the ability and willingness to obtain.Knowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office, MS Databases and Spreadsheets, and SAPAbility to work positively and effectively with outside vendors/agencies and internal personnel and departmentsExperience in inventory, distribution processes and/or managing quality transactional data in SAPMust be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorshipPreferred RequirementsAssociate degree in agronomy (or related plant science), Ag.
