Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise. The focus of this position will be the management and improvement of business unit engineering processes. Responsibilities include: Regularly works with other members of the organization as part of a cross-functional team and/or leads large cross- functional initiatives. Builds strong relationships with customers and peers. Receives little instruction from leadership and is expected to delegate to peers when appropriate. Responsible for advanced technical and personal mentoring of less- senior team members. Root cause analysis on application and server outages Responsible for requirements capture activities within the team including both customer and derived technical requirements. Ensures use cases, workflow, and requirements are accurate and complete Evaluates customer's requirements and performs trade studies to identify the most balanced technical solutions in terms of operational capabilities based on established criteria. Understands industry trends within specific disciplines and evaluates them for use within Collins Aerospace solutions. Leads and coordinates proof of concepts for validation against requirements and solutions design review and ranking w/ customer & leadership. Builds forecasting modules which identify future capacity problems. Propose lean solutions that are available with sufficient lead time to ensure the businesses ability to act. Application and server performance Monitoring Develops and maintains technical documentation and proposals The successful candidate will have many of the following skills/experience: Extensive Linux Server Administration IT infrastructure and cloud administration Experience working in DevOps environment System Security Administration (DFARS) Disaster Recovery Java WebApp administration Database Infrastructure Administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) Docker experience Systems performance analysis (Elastic stack, Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios, Kibana, etc.) Project and product management Basic Qualifications: US Citizenship or Green Card Holder This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required. 5 years of experience with System/Network Administration 3 years experience with Linux 2 years DBA experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility.
