We're looking for a highly motivated team member that will work on a collaborative team developing *state-of-the-art embedded Linux software solutions*. You will also develop, own, maintain, and enhance our development infrastructure using DevOps methodologies.



Within Collins Aerospace we work alongside FPGA, hardware, systems and software teams in order to seamlessly embed our advanced technology into our communications product portfolio. Our state-of-the-art embedded software and test solutions support commercial customers such as Airbus and Boeing, US government projects and many more.



*Design, develop and continuously enhance our customized Linux OS ecosystem and maintain ownership over areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards.



* Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software and drivers



* Prepare software builds for execution in a simulation environment, reference platforms and on the target hardware.



* Apply industry best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions.



* Support software tool customization and automation, including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs.



* Assist our team with development and support of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across both cloud and onsite computing environments.



*Elements of the embedded Linux OS ecosystem lifecycle and embedded test solutions, utilizing company processes and policies regarding open-source content and third-party intellectual property.



* You will continuously develop DevOps skillsets that can be applied to a multitude of physical and virtual infrastructures.



* The connectivity and secure networking technologies of today and tomorrow, which we count on to maintain world leadership in the avionics industry.



* Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or* *an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.



* S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: [



* 2+ years of experience as a command line user of Linux, with mid-level skills in embedded C/C++.



* Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python).



* Experience with embedded Linux device drivers.



* Experience with DevOps methodologies.



* Experience deploying and supporting Gitlab CI/CD tooling, pipelines, and automation. Experience with Linux System Administration and general working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization.


*Experience packaging custom Linux distribution with Buildroot.



* Experience in developing and maintaining Linux board support packages (BSP) for embedded systems.



* Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration



* Experience using Linux Docker.




* Experience provisioning cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS



* Experience with Agile methodologies.



* Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
