Job Description Milling and Fermentation Process SpecialistThe
Milling and Fermentation Process Specialist, Subject Matter Expert
is responsible for setting tactical and strategic direction for the
Mash Prep Area within the Dry Grind Ethanol facility. This employee
will work with andreport to the Dry Grind Superintendent. The
duties may vary by day, and hours may varybased on specific tasks.
Duties include setting daily direction for operations
throughstandard work, maintenance planning/prioritization, ensuring
trainees are meetingtraining milestones, assessing trainees on
competency, overall reliability of milling/mash prep areas,
troubleshooting plant upsets, execute focused improvement solutions
within milling / mash prep, maintain ELSP and area specific safety
items, own Standard Operating Procedures within distillation,
monitor/track enzyme/chemical truck deliveries, create strategic
vision to maintain optimal plant operations, participate in plant
initiative activities, and other tasks as required. This person
will be responsible for updating and maintaining all Mash Prep
related PolicyTech information. For the tactical portion of the
job, the Subject Matter Expert is required to drive out losses
within the department to ensure mash prep is capable of hitting
maximum plant throughputs.Job Function:Communicates effectively
with the department operators, contractors, engineering,and
supervision.Maintains close contact with the operations, advising
the Superintendent asproblems are encountered.Create action plans
on how to eliminate bottlenecks and/or losses within Mash
PrepProactively anticipates challenges and hazards and works to
eliminate them before they impact the Mash Prep area, both
operationally and safetyClosely monitor the process to ensure
optimized process parameters while maintaining within the
designated KPI rangesUtilize the Performance Excellence pillars to
drive out losses and optimize Mash
Prep areaWorks directly with Maintenance Planner(s) and Maintenance
Superintendent to prioritize Work OrdersDetermine the timing for
execution of maintenance work orders and schedule LOTO activities
with operatorsEnsure prompt and adequate delivery of process
enzymes and chemicalsDetailed and in depth troubleshooting of
problematic systems and areas.Maintain operational standard work
for operators to provide day to day guidanceAssists with
operational activities on D3 and in fieldEnsure trainees are
progressing on training plans, providing feedback to further their
training experiencesEvaluate and qualify trainees to designate the
have the required competency to run the mash prep areaProvide
insight on employee feedback to Operations Supervisor and
Superintendent during annual operator merit review processCreate
strategic goals for mash prep to maintain optimal reliability and
efficiencyParticipate in corporate initiatives and lead efforts at
the plant level to execute those initiativesEnter and approve Work
Orders as issues arise that need attention with appropriate
prioritization (Code 1, 4, 7, 9)Must be a highly motivated
individual and have the ability to motivate others for task
completion.Must be able to work well with others in a team
environment, as well as the ability to work well without
supervision.Excellent attendance and positive attitude on a daily
basis is a must.Ability to issue hot work and confined space
permitsMaintain, update, and write all ESLP documentation for
distillationMaintain, update, and write all SOP's for
distillationAssists in equipment periodic inspections.Ability to
align to department's priorities and self-manage workload

Monday - Friday, but available for operations outside of standard

frequent basisStand for long periods of time.Lift 50 lbs.Carry

Skills:Experienced milling, fermentation, and liquefaction
Qualification(s)Good communication skills and ability to
communicate with individuals on multiple levelsMechanical and
operations aptitudeStrong troubleshooting skillsExcellent in LOTO
policy and proceduresIn depth knowledge of Dry Grind facility and
