Job Description:
Provides a school-based child abuse prevention program that
gives children the knowledge and skills to decrease their risk for
abuse and encourages those who have been victims to report the
abuse. Ensures that the material presented is in alignment with
best practices in the field. Works closely with school staff to
ensure success of the program.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Essential functions are the duties and responsibilities that are

Community Education
- Works with school staff in Linn county (and surrounding counties)
to schedule Safetouch presentations, answer questions, and
distribute materials.
- Conducts Safetouch presentations throughout the school year for
children in pre-school through fifth grade.
- Provides an evaluation tool of Safetouch to school staff and
makes program adjustments as needed based on feedback received.
- Coordinates child abuse prevention month activities for the Child
Protection Center and works with community partners to increase
child abuse awareness.

- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance
requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g.
Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any
questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate
attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate
action on concerns reported by department staff related to
compliance.

Minimum Requirements
Preferred or Specialized
Education:
Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences.
Experience:
Prefer one year of experience in the child abuse field.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related
reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email,
and web browers.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential
functions of the position.
Work may occasionally require travel to other locations.
