Technology (R&D)This position is on the Networking Technology &
Radio Software team within the Collins Advanced Technology
organization. Our team solves some of the toughest challenges
related to improving battlespace connectivity. The Advanced
Technology organization serves as Mission Systems' innovation hub.
We solve defense customers' critical problems and work with major
universities and DoD laboratories on groundbreaking research
projects.As an Advanced Technology engineer, you will join a team
of highly innovative engineers who are inventing, developing,
integrating, and demonstrating novel networking and radio software
concepts and capabilities. These solutions can quickly go from
concept to field demonstration to fielded product. The applicant
must be creative; highly self-motivated; and have strong
interpersonal, communication and networking skills. You will
collaborate with software, cyber, firmware, and hardware engineers.
The most successful Advanced Technology engineers are eager to
learn, quick to dive into complex technical challenges,
self-directed, comfortable with ambiguous problem spaces, and
highly motivated.Primary Responsibilities:Design, develop,
integrate, demonstrate, and test advanced networking or radio
software systems/subsystemsSupport pursuits with customers such as
DARPA, ONR, AFRL, Army Research Labs, etc.Basic
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant
experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant
experience is requiredBachelor's degree (typically in Science,
Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2
years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local
laws/regulationsMust be a U.S. CitizenMust have or be capable of
obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Candidate selected will be subject to a government security
investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility
requirementsPrior embedded software development using C, C++, Bash,
Python, etc.Experience working in a Linux environmentKnowledge of
networking concepts and technologies (eg IPv4, IPv6, Routing,
Multicast, NAT, TCP, UDP, OLSR, OSPF, PIM, IPSec, VPN, ACLs, ToS
and QoS, etc.)Excellent verbal/written communication and teamwork
skillsDemonstrated capability in a fast-paced, dynamic, creative
work environmentExperience with build tools and version control
systemsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in Computer Science
or Electrical Engineering or related degreeCurrently holds a DoD
Top Secret security clearanceExperience writing software for
networked applications, networking stack protocol implementation,
and board support packages (BSPs).Aptitude in network design and
architecture, scalability modeling and simulationFamiliar with
system requirements definitionExperience integrating embedded
software with FPGA/firmwareExperience with Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks,
Tactical Data Links, or waveform softwareDiversity drives
