Youll also build connections with fellow students, your work teams, and our leadership team through both work and social events. -At Grinnell Mutual you get all of this and more! -ResponsibilitiesUnderwriting, Sales & Service This division evaluates insurance applications to determine the risk involved, insurability, and best pricing for the policy. Then works directly with independent agents to place the business with Grinnell Mutual. We cover Commercial, Personal lines and Farm insurance. Successful individuals on this team are good with selling & negotiating, details, analysis, and customer service. Seventy percent of the companys revenue is derived from these operations. Within Underwriting, we have three main areas we are recruiting co-ops for: -Commercial Lines Underwriting:

• Commercial Lines Underwriting provides a look into a main revenue source for Grinnell Mutual. - Coops will be able to work alongside experienced members of the team to make a difference to businesses that we insure throughout our writing territory. -
• Throughout 2023 we will be refocusing on profitability of our existing clients. Co-ops will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that will have an impact on Grinnell Mutual for years to come. - We have a number of projects focusing on profitability and setting the stage to transition to a new technology platform. - -Qualifications
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 -
    • Undergraduates who have completed your sophomore or junior year -
      • Strong analytical skills, initiative, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills -
        • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills -
          • Commitment to 68 months, from 10 hours a week up to 40 hours per week - -
            • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel -
              • Ability to understand basic insurance terminology (dont worry, we train) -
