Job Description Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sr Systems
Engineer to join the Avionics Fusion IPS Systems group. This team
is responsible for the design, integration, development,
certification, deployment and sustaining of our Avionics Systems on
Bombardier large business jets through the lifecycle of the
programs. The platforms supported includes more than 500 fielded
aircraft for the Global 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500 and
7500x00/6x00/7500 programs. The position requires technical
background; the candidate will participate in the development life
cycle of software and hardware integration of Integrated Modular
Avionics (IMA) Avionics in a Fusion IPS architecture, supporting
requirements development, software integration, documentation,
certification and sustaining activities for large size Business
Jets as part of a Systems Engineering group. On-site position
requiring executing requirements-based testing, test scripts,
scenario-based testing, robustness testing and unintended function
testing in a lab environment. Flexibility is necessary to maximize
test asset utilization. The candidate will own the troubleshooting
and reporting of issues resulting from development cycles and
investigations reported from fielded aircraft, the candidate will
be capable of providing internal status as well as direct reporting
to the OEM as necessary. Candidates will independently operate the
rig facilities during testing phases of the program and during
troubleshooting activities. Understanding of aircraft operational
fundamentals are required to be able to run flight test scenarios.
The Sr. Systems Engineer will support sustaining activities
involving Hardware and Software obsolescence management as part of
Notice-of-Change processes including HIRF and Lightning
evaluations. Position will be hybrid--- located in Cedar Rapids,
IA. A comprehensive relocation package is available. Please

primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance
employees, as they are essential to the development of our
products. Hybrid : Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will
work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working
onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. Remote :
Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily
offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the
site location as needed. Regardless of your role type,

their work requires in-person meetings. Primary Responsibilities:
Complete assignments involving Design and Requirement Developments
activities On-site execution of requirements-based testing,
robustness and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule
flexibility is necessary during formal test phases) Develops and
executes test scripts Produces system certification level
documentation Integrates and owns SW/HW Work Packages and Avionics
---features--- Owns the tracking and troubleshooting of assigned
development and field issues Collaborates with engineers across
multiple subsystems contributing toward a positive team working
environment Basic Qualifications: Bachelor---s degree (Typically
requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is
required Ability to work in a regulatory intensive and
process-oriented environment Problem Solving & Hands-On
Troubleshooting abilities Familiar with systems tools such as JIRA,
DOORS, JAMA Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IMA and IPS
System Level Developments Capable of operating the test facilities
(rigs and simulations) executing scripted and unscripted flight
test scenarios Ability to interpret ARINC429, Wireshark, and FDR
data Understanding of avionics and aircraft sub-systems Experience
developing in a DO-254, DO-160, DO-178B/C DO-297, ARP4754A and
FAA/TCCA/EASA regulatory environment. Experience with Agile
