Red Star Yeast Company LLC (RSYC), a leader in the Yeast Manufacturing Industry, is now accepting resumes for a Long Term Nutritional Temp (Temp to hire) position at our Cedar Rapids, IA location! RSYC is a joint venture between Lesaffre Yeast Corporation and ADM, and is proud to have a state of the art facility that opened its doors in 2005 as the largest fresh yeast manufacturing facility in North America. The Lesaffre Yeast Corporation has been providing quality yeast products since 1853 and is the world leader in yeast and yeast extracts with a presence in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Red Star Yeast Company is looking for engaging applicants that are willing to show a strong commitment and dedication for their work. Successful candidates in the interview process will be invited to work in our Nutritional Department as a long term temp with the opportunity to be hired on for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door with our company with little to no experience. We are looking for someone with a proven work history of going above and beyond.

Wage varies by position. Benefits for all positions with Red Star Yeast start on day one. Performance reviews conducted annually with merit increases. Added Shift Differential for hours worked on night shift.

Production Operator Responsibilities
Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Understand and follow safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and other rules or policies to make a high-quality product.
Ensure that product is processed and packaged correctly and in a timely manner using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
This requires a wide range of knowledge and skills, many of which can be learned on the job.
Use strong communication and customer service skills to interact with other personnel at the plant
Perform sanitation of equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.
Monitor quality assurance controls during the production process.
Assist in trouble-shooting of equipment and process problems.
Work Schedule: 6p-6a on a 3-2-2-3 rotation.

Requirements
Ability to follow instructions, learn and ask questions.
Strong Mechanical aptitude
Good customer service and people skills.
Ability to manage time and plan ahead.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Ability to operate forklifts and production/packaging equipment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion of assignments.
Knowledge of manufacturing and packaging processes preferred.
Best qualified candidates will have demonstrated good performance and attendance records.
High school diploma or GED required.

Please note: All new hires of Lesaffre are required to have received all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine 2 weeks prior to start date.
