About this position:
Do you take pride in maintaining quality and accuracy in your
work? Do you enjoy research? GreatAmerica is seeking a
Sales Tax Specialist to help ensure GreatAmerica is in compliance
with the sales tax process cycle. As a Sales Tax Specialist
you will be responsible for researching state and local tax laws to
ensure compliance. You will also manage state sales/use tax
returns and remittance.
Specific responsibilities include:
Administration of basic state and local sales/use tax returns
without assistance and complex returns with assistance.
Accurately prepare support documents for return filing using
internal applications with assistance.
Complete basic local sales tax registrations without assistance,
complex local registrations with assistance.
Answer basic sales tax questions for various business units with
Administer recurring sales tax quality control procedures,
including but not limited to report generation and correction.
Identify exempt customers and reapply payments as needed with
Grasp and identify sales tax coding errors and aids in
Understand and complete basic account reconciliations with
Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external as well
as internal customers.
Education, experience and skills required:
Two year accounting degree required or equivalent applicable
Our ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Office
primarily Word and Excel; general experience with sales tax
software is preferred.
