Overview
GREENSTATE INTERNSHIPS: Directly assists and works with General
Counsel and Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support
for GreenState Credit Union.
GreenState Credit Union's internship opportunity will immerse you

ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following
areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and
are subject to change:
- Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards
in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.
- Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external)
focus at all times.
- Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in
the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
- Ensures confidentiality of member and staff
information.
Legal Operations
- Work closely with the Senior Paralegal and Chief Legal Officer
in a close team environment.
- Performs legal, factual, and records research
- Identifies relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal
articles, codes and other pertinent material.
- Draft memo and briefs appropriate for senior level
staff.
- Review and comment on vendor contracts.
- Prepares and reviews legal documents including briefs,
pleadings, agreements.
- Assist with bankruptcy and or foreclosure filings.
- Builds, organizes, and maintains legal databases and case
files.
- Reviews and monitors new and updated laws and
regulations.
- Work cooperatively with paralegal egal processor to perform
specific legal functions and coordinates delivery of legal services
to other departments.
- Participate with Attorney for hearing preparation or personally
represent GreenState under 631.14.
- Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating
in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored
events on an annual basis.
- Performs any other duties as may be required to meet Credit
Union objectives.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Completion of first year of law school (2L/3L) from an ABA
accredited law school
- Working knowledge of legal principles, practices, terminology,
and ability to conduct legal research using electronic
databases.
- Effective writing with the ability to independently draft memos
and briefs appropriate for senior level staff.
- Ability to assist with the preparation of discovery materials
and handling ESI.
- Knowledge of real property law and conveyances.
- Ability to learn EDMS, ECF and make electronic filing.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal rules of civil
procedure.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills along with
attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and
works overtime as necessitated by business demand.
- Proficiency with related computer applications, spreadsheets,
word processing, and database applications.
- Must be bondable.
