Job Description:

Hospitalist opening in Guttenberg, Iowa. MercyOne Guttenberg is in need of additional Hospitalist candidates! looking to add 2 more providers to the pool for ongoing coverage. Shift Description:

• Weekdays are 7:30a - 7:30a
• Call on weekends (7:30a Fri - 7:30a Mon)
• Ongoing coverage/shift availability Details:
  • Reason for need: Backfill coverage
  • Inpatient admitting, rounding and backing up the NP in the ED
  • APPs provide coverage 24/7
  • Patient population: adult, pediatric, medicine, trauma
  • Solo coverage - only Hospitalist during coverage
  • 1-2 admissions per day; 0 ICU; 5-6 inpatients
  • Will respond to house codes
  • Will cover Patient Care Unit on the 2nd floor of the hospital
  • Will be responsible for supervising other healthcare providers
  • Trauma level 4
  • Required procedures: Non-Invasive Vent Management (bipap/cpap), Intubation (ETT/INT), Chest Tube insertion, Central Line, PICC Line, Newborn Resuscitation, General Inpatient pediatrics, Non-displaced fractures, suturing of minor lacerations, evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues, EKG interpretation
  • 90 day credentialing timeline
  • EMR: Epic SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    • Board Certified - Required
    • Must be comfortable backing up the NP in the ED while covering
    • Active IA license - Required
    • BLS, ACLS, ATLS, NRP, PALS - Required, must be obtained before starting
    • Need to be comfortable with Peds - Required
    • Needs to be semi-local (will not reimburse for flights)
    • COVID Vaccine - Required STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
