cross functional and dedicated teams in implementing Financial
Assets programs, product, operations, and capital transactions,
developing capital structures, and serving as an integral part of
capital management efforts for Financial Assets. This position will
be responsible for key operational system implementations, capital
transactions in the U.S. and outside of the U.S., and will provide
support to the Director, Third Party Strategy to implement third
party relationships. Assist in optimizing assets across different
accounting and capital regimes.Job DescriptionResponsibilities
- Oversee and manage Financial Assets Operations teams and
systems.
- Lead policyholder operational activities related to Financial
Assets product lines (legacy life, health, and annuity).
- Lead implementation and production activities related to
various Financial Assets product and cost optimization.
- Demonstrate high level of expertise in life insurance capital
regimes (NAIC RBC, S&P capital, Solvency II, IFRS 17, and
Economic Capital). Able to explain complex results, monitor changes
to modeling assumptions, and able to self-generate ideas on how to
make capital more efficient and fungible.
- Lead or participate in initiatives across the Transamerica
Americas balance sheet to optimize capital and cash flows under the
various balance sheet regimes.
- Oversee work with potential funding partners (Banks and
Reinsurers) to identify possible solutions and suggest strategies
to optimize the balance sheet, new ventures to generate more
capital, liquidity, and collateral efficiency.
- Partner with Treasury and Rating Agency management, where
appropriate, in efforts with rating agencies regarding their
balance sheet treatment (operational leverage, fungibility of
capital, etc.) of our various financing activities, as well as, to
support our Solvency II and Economic Capital efforts.
- Lead on determining operational leverage capacity and
constraints for the Americas balance sheet, including determining
best uses of operational leverage for our shareholders.
- Provide analysis of deal structures to help optimize after tax,
risk adjusted, results.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, math, or related
field
- 12 years of experience in the financial services industry with
focus on the more technical aspects of administration operational
systems, capital allocation or asset/liability management related
activities
- Strong influence and persuasion skills, and experience
influencing leaders within the company
- Proven critical thinking skills and ability to appropriately
challenge business leaders
- Exceptional business understanding of capital markets,
investments, reinsurance, derivatives, insurance products,
onshore/offshore captives and highly structured transactions
- High expertise with using and analyzing NAIC, Solvency II, and
Economic capital models
- High expertise in enterprise risk management techniques to
enhance capital allocation and risk versus returns
- Deep understanding of capital, liquidity, and collateral
processes in the context of a life insurance company.
- Ability to structure capital markets transactions, and
brainstorm and alter structures based on generalized knowledge of
insurance accounting, tax, capital, investment, risk, regulatory,
and rating agency treatment
- Experience with managing projects and teams within a larger
organization and across different disciplines
- Intellectually curious, creative thinker, excellent
interpersonal skills, and a willingness/desire to be part of a
global teamPreferred Qualifications
- CFA, CPA, MBA, FSA, or FRM
- Experience providing strategic solutions to balance sheet
issues within the insurance industry
- Experience with variable annuities and onshore/offshore
captivesWorking Conditions

assigned to one of the following work location designations:
- In office employees will perform all of their work at a Company
office location.
- Hybrid employees will need to work at a Company office location
