Role Overview: This position entry-level Mechanical Engineer. Participates in product development activities, executes tests, and produces parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards. Responsibilities may include developing clean sheet designs, design improvements on existing equipment, documentation creation and reviews, production support, supporting printed circuit card layouts and fixture builds, performing tolerance analysis, working with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and develop solutions to customer issues, initial design analysis, and prototyping. Specific tasks may includestructural design for electronic enclosures/equipment, thermal, vibration, and other environmental design considerations, design verification and validation, prototype build, and production transition to the factory. Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment where the individual will interact with various engineering teams such as other mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, and support personnel. Primary Responsibilities: Participate in product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout, and development of performance or maintenance requirements. Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives. Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs. Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects. Produce parts, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency. May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions. Preferred Qualifications: Mechanical fixture design Manufacturing assembly processes Engineering packaging materials and material properties 3D CAD (NX preferred) Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to support frequent internal and external meetings. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments are essential. Basic Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and less than 3 years of relevant ************* the absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
