Computing Solutions Department (CSD) within Displays, Computing and
Networking (DCN) has an opening for a Principal Electrical
Engineer. CSD is responsible for the development of new computing
platforms that will serve as the basis for our next generation
avionics products. Our platforms employ the following technologies
and interfaces; Airborne Electronic Hardware including FPGAs, ASICs
and MPSoCs. Avionics and processor interfaces including ARINC 429,
Ethernet, AFDX, PCIe, CAN, RS-232, DDR, I2C, SPI. Our products must
be developed in compliance with the latest regulatory requirements
including DO-254, AC20-152A and AC 20-170. Seeking a motivated
individual to join our team and help deliver a product line
computing platform, associated certification plans, and a set of
lifecycle artifacts that will enable product adoption and deliver
reuse for our future Avionics solutions. What You Will Do:
Responsibilities will include circuit card and sub-level module
development, product certification, product transition, and product
sustainment over the life cycle of the design. Act as the primary
Certification Focal, owning the Plan for Hardware Aspects of
Certification (PHAC) and hardware development and verification
plans. Own SOI process. Responsible for executing solutions with a
product line focus and striving to generate reuse and reapplication
of the product line artifact lifecycle data. Opportunity for
project engineering and control account management (PE/CAM)
functions. 5-10% travel as needed What You Will Learn: Advanced SoC
Integration: Gain expertise in integrating multi-core processors
and the associated implications to design and certification.
Regulatory Leadership: Develop the skills to guide a team through
the rigorous Stage of Involvement (SOI) audit process, becoming a
subject matter expert in modern certification guidance. Master
Hardware Architecting: Advance from a designer to a high-level
Hardware Architect. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically
requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or
an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of
experience. Hardware domain knowledge of development and
verification lifecycle activities and production of the associated
artifacts. Understanding and application of certification
objectives (DO-254, AC 20-152A). Design experience interfacing with
complex embedded devices (microprocessors, graphics processors,
memory). Experience working with standard lab equipment for
integration testing of hardware designs. Experience with schematic
capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs.
Qualifications We Prefer: Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC),
Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT). Experience
conducting COTS Device Assessments and managing complex component
errata. Verification Depth: knowledge of verification tooling and
process. Proven structured technical writing experience. What We

salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary
range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all
