Job Description Job Description Launch a Leadership Role in Commercial Food Equipment Service CONES Solutions is expanding into Dubuque, IA , and seeking an experienced, self-starting Field Service Technician to establish and lead operations in this new market. This is a rare opportunity to be the first technician in a new territory , backed by the full support of our established service team across Illinois and Iowa. A local Dubuque office is planned as we grow the territory and expand our team. The right candidate will be both a skilled technician and a territory builder —someone who thrives on independence, values customer relationships, and is excited to grow into a training and leadership role as we expand the Dubuque market. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of commercial foodservice equipment (fryers, ovens, refrigeration, steamers, beverage systems, and more) Provide preventative maintenance inspections and respond to emergency service calls Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong local relationships with restaurants, schools, and foodservice operations Take ownership of the Dubuque territory while collaborating closely with our regional service team for support and resources Participate in the regular rotation of after-hours and weekend calls (initially as the primary technician in Dubuque) Pursue continual skill development, including studying for and passing the 4 CFESA certification exams (Electrical, Gas, Steam, Refrigeration) Act as a resource for future hires in Dubuque—helping to train and mentor new technicians as the territory grows Job Expectations MUST possess and maintain a valid driver’s license Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs infrequently Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and work in varying indoor and outdoor environments Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, gauges, and meters Strong communication skills (written, typed, and verbal) Comfort with tablets, phones, and IT-based service systems Education, Training, and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC/R or commercial equipment service Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage territory responsibilities U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available) What Makes You Stand Out Previous experience managing a service territory independently Hands-on expertise across electrical, gas, steam, and refrigeration equipment Strong customer relationship-building skills Leadership experience or interest in training and mentoring others Current EPA certification (Universal preferred) CFESA certifications or readiness to pursue them quickly Benefits Include $24–30/hr DoE , with structured growth opportunities tied to certifications and advancement, plus performance-based raises and bonuses Performance-based raises and bonuses Company vehicle, phone, tablet, corporate/fuel card Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays Health, vision, and dental coverage Disability and life insurance Paid factory and CFESA training Tuition reimbursement Company-match retirement plan Uniforms with professional laundering service Company Information Founded in 1966, CONES Solutions, Inc. is a commercial food and beverage equipment sales and service company.
