us! We are seeking a highly motivated RF Electrical Engineering
Co-op Student to join the RF hardware design group within Mission
Systems Communication Products Engineering. This position focuses
on circuit board designs for RF hardware in communication products
and provides the opportunity for the student to broaden their
background with a practical approach to engineering. The primary
goal for the student is to merge theoretical knowledge gained in
school with practical engineering applications. In addition, the
selected candidate will participate in various training,
networking, and mentorship opportunities. The types of
responsibilities include assisting Electrical Engineers in the
design, development, support, and documentation associated with
both digital and analog circuitry used in high-performance
communication products, such as software-defined radios and data
links. This position offers the opportunity to expand the student's
knowledge and skills in all phases of electrical hardware design,
including requirements capture, design, schematic capture, layout,
test/verification, integration, and factory transition. Specific
types of engineering-related activities include RF electronics
design and test, component analysis, and troubleshooting of
electronic circuitry. This position not only supports design
engineers but also plays a key role in supporting factory, field,
and customer-related issues. Candidates must be motivated to learn
new technologies, be a strong team player, and contribute to a
positive work environment. A successful candidate will also be able
to effectively communicate professionally and produce effective,
clear, and concise technical documentation. This position is for
the Spring/Summer 2024 (January-August) session and is in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa; may be eligible for relocation. Primary
Responsibilities: Design, analysis, simulation, test, and
integration of digital circuit cards for various Communication
Systems & Software Defined Radio applications. Creation and
analysis of electrical schematics and RF layouts Analysis and
design of multilayer RF/mixed-signal circuit board and assemblies
Test and troubleshooting of electronic circuitry. Includes support
lab of design verification testing for circuit card assemblies.
Basic Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent,
and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in
Electrical Engineering. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S.
citizens are authorized to access the information under this
program/contract Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. DOD
Secret Clearance. The candidate selected may be subject to a
government security investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements. Preferred Qualifications : Background in Electrical
