Join our mission today.Senior Principal Cyber Security Engineer - (Onsite)The Secure Processing Solutions (SPS) Cyber Engineering team is seeking a Cyber Engineer to support our SPS products organization. The successful candidate will have a passion for innovation and the drive to see new technology and capability matured into fielded solutions. This role will participate in a shared service Cyber team that is responsible for systems security engineering tasks related to next generation cryptographic and cross domain products, maturing products from concept through accreditation while contributing to protecting our nation and our products. -As a member of the SPS Cyber Engineering team, we want you to help develop solutions to secure the Warfighter's technology advantage. The SPS Cyber Engineering team creates security solutions leveraging multiple disciplines like NSA Type 1 Certification, Anti-Tamper (AT), Software Assurance, Hardware Assurance, Cryptography, Cross Domain Solutions, and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) to support Program Protection Implementation on various systems.The successful candidate will be part of a distributed team composed of professionals from several disciplines and must have the ability to function well, both alone and with others, and have strong interpersonal skills. This position may require travel (up to 10%.). Position requires that candidate has a final US DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain a final security clearance (US Citizenship is required) to access classified information.There's no such thing as a perfect candidate, so don't hold back. • Has a passion for Cyber Security Engineering and developing Information Assurance Systems.
• Has a good understanding of the NSA Type 1 high assurance certification process.
• Lead the development of cybersecurity design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies. Includes System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Risk Assessment Plans & Reports (RAP&R), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), System Design and Installation Procedures, System User Guides, Privileged User Guides, Security Test Plans & Procedures, and other artifacts as needed.
• Ability to decompose and integrate cybersecurity development activities into actionable program plans.
• Lead the development of RMF documents, controls, and validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations.
• Conduct cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture.
• Regularly evaluate system security posture and implement cyber improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; and anticipating cyber requirements.
• Conduct technical and nontechnical trade studies.
• Interfaces with various engineering levels from peer team members to upper-level program management, and various customers
• Utilize tools such as JIRA, ALM, DOORS, Office365 Products, Subversion, and PREP
• Additional Systems Engineering responsibilities and/or project work as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required -
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Familiar with NSA Type 1 high assurance certification process
  • Familiar with Risk management Framework (RMF), as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37, 800-53, and CNSSI 1253.
  • Familiar with Program Protection Plan (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39.
  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance / System Security Engineer subject matter expert.
    • Familiar with secure software delivery and secure boot solutions.
    • Knowledge and/or experience with NIST SP 800-series RMF framework and guidelines.
    • Cost Account Management (CAM) experience.
    • Any industry recognized security certifications (Sec+, OSCP, CISSP) are desirable.
    • Knowledge and/or experience with STIGs, SCAP, Splunk or other system hardening and compliance, vulnerability assessment, and/or SIEM tools (SCAP, OSCAP, ACAS, SCC).
    • Comfortable working with minimal daily supervision and to balance numerous priorities.
    • Team player with excellent communication skills in both oral and written abilities.
