Specialist dedicated to serving the needs of our community.HOURS OF
OPERATION -8 AM TO 5 PM, Monday through FridayESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for posting charges for clinic and/or hospital
visits. - This consists of: reviewing the ICD-10 and CPT codes
selected by the provider, adding modifiers as needed, contacting
the provider if information needs clarification, researching
documentation in the hospital EMR system and working all
holds/edits to ensure claims are billed.
- Responsible for processing primary and secondary medical claims
as required and maintaining Accounts Receivable goals. - This
consists of reviewing and working the hold buckets of claims which
have been denied by insurance and are in need of review or
appeal.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge base of major third-party payer
regulations such as Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge of policy guidelines and
application to the sliding fee based on federal poverty guidelines
for our patient population.
- Demonstrates an appropriate knowledge of medical practice
management software, data entry, 10 key, and windows based
applications.
- Apply a working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding to daily
processes.
- Assist patients with questions on their account by referring
them to Outreach and Enrollment, explaining the slide program,
setting up payment plans and explaining outstanding balances on
their account.
- Assist Athena with payment posting by providing EOB's and
working the correspondence and unpostable dashboards.
- Monitors self-pay balances and works accounts including sending
them to an outside collection agency.
- Run reports as needed to monitor account receivable balances,
accurate and timely claims payments and other billing processes as

- FTCA Malpractice Insurance -REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years' experience in a medical office or hospital setting
