Job hours: Monday-Friday 10:00am-3:00pm. General_Job_Summary Under limited supervision supports the One Stop Office by performing office assistant duties such as reception and phone duties; composing routine correspondence, working with advanced office software, provides factual information requiring knowledge of policies and procedures of Kirkwood; exercises a degree of independent judgment and cooperative with other college personnel and the public; position involves working with confidential information. Universal_Core_Competencies * Advocate for Continual Improvement- empowering each other to identify opportunities for excellence. * Collaborate with Mutual Accountability- working together with a willingness to take ownership and account for our actions. * Champion Service- anticipating needs and create a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environment. * Perseverance- commitment to excellence even in the face of adversity or delay in achieving success. * Lead- regardless of title, through positive influence. * Duties/Responsibilities * Perform various office duties to include: filing, greeting visitors, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, sorting and delivering mail and documents, and accessing student record information * Assist student with financial aid and registration questions, and review and collect appropriate documentation * Assist in maintaining the appearance of the One Stop Office * Provides support to administrator and departmental staff such as coordinating materials for mailings, maintaining department records and files, generating reports, scheduling and coordinating meetings, and maintaining computer databases. * Welcome, value, and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences. * Maintain knowledge of college and department policies and procedures * Performs other related work duties as assigned. * PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS * Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and energetic with the ability to meet and deal effectively with students, parents, college personnel and the community we serve. * Work efficiently and effectively in an environment that at times can be stressful and have frequent interruptions. * Possess strong multi-tasking skills. * Requires strong organizational skills, good communication skills and attention to detail. * Provide outstanding customer service and serve as a positive representative of the department and the student services division with the goal of improving student learning and success. * Functional knowledge of the Colleague student database, Word, Excel, Power Point, and other commonly used computer programs. * Be punctual and reliable and possess an ability to work efficiently, effectively, and independently in an environment with regular interruption. * The statements contained herein reflect general details as necessary to describe the essential job duties/responsibilities and performance expectations of the job, which should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
