Finance & Accounting Hoops HR is seeking a detail-oriented Staff
Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations on behalf of
our client. The Staff accountant will help ensure accurate
financial reporting and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal
for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, values accuracy,
and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Location: Full time, W2
position located onsite in Marion, Iowa Compensation: $25-$31/hr
based on experience What You’ll Do Accounts Receivable & Billing
Prepare and process customer invoices and billing. Post payments,
monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on past-due accounts.
Generate and distribute monthly accounts receivable statements.
State Registrations & Compliance Assist with new state business
registrations. Maintain ongoing state licenses, permits, and
registrations. Track tax liabilities and support required tax
filings. Banking & Cash Management Perform daily bank
reconciliations. Record and track incoming funds accurately.
Support cash management and reporting activities. General
Accounting Prepare and post journal entries. Reconcile balance
sheet and income statement accounts. Identify discrepancies through
variance analysis and assist with resolution. Fixed Assets Track
fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers. Maintain
depreciation schedules and monthly postings. ERP & Data Management
Set up new projects within the ERP system. Maintain accurate
customer and vendor records. Month-End & Year-End Close Assist with
month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting. Support year-end
close activities and audit preparation. Additional Support Provide
occasional phone and administrative support. Assist with other
accounting or finance-related tasks as needed. What We’re Looking
For Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a
related field (preferred). 1–3 years of accounting experience (or a
strong combination of education and experience). Working knowledge
of GAAP and core accounting principles. Experience with ERP systems
strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft
Office. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Clear
communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Similar job
