The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with a focus on income tax planning, tax preparation, and financial statements. While a CPA certificate or candidates for the CPA exam are preferred, they are not mandatory. Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.2. Coordinating and executing the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.3. Assisting in income tax planning and preparation, as well as other tax-related projects.4. Managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance.5. Overseeing payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.6. Using QuickBooks and UltraTax software for various accounting and tax functions.7. Providing support in the compilation of information for internal and external auditors.8. Assisting in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.9. Participating in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.Qualifications:The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly desirable.2. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on income tax planning and preparation, general ledger, and financial statement preparation.3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and UltraTax or similar accounting and tax software.4. Excellent understanding of accounting principles and income tax laws.5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff.7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.9.
