Technology). Job Description SummaryLead in implementing capital
transactions, developing capital structures, and serve as an
integral part of capital management efforts for Aegon Treasury.
This position will lead in implementing capital transactions in the
U.S. and will be involved, to a lesser degree, in implementing
capital transactions outside the U.S. Solve balance sheet
inefficiencies and redundancies across different accounting and
capital regimes.Job DescriptionResponsibilities
- Demonstrated high level of expertise in life insurance capital
regimes (NAIC RBC, S&P capital, Solvency II, and Economic
- Able to explain complex results, monitor changes to modeling
assumptions, and able to self generate ideas on how to make capital
more efficient and fungible.
- Recommend initiatives across the Transamerica Americas balance
sheet in a desire to optimize capital and cash flows under the
various balance sheet regimes.
- Work with Banks and Reinsurers to identify possible solutions
and suggest strategies to make the balance sheet and new ventures
more capital, liquidity, and collateral efficient.
- Support Treasury in efforts with rating agencies regarding
their balance sheet treatment (operational leverage, fungibility of
capital, etc.) of our various financing activities, as well as, to
support our Solvency II and Economic Capital efforts.
- Lead on determining operational leverage capacity and
constraints for the Americas balance sheet, including helping to
determine best uses of operational leverage for our
- Provide analysis of deal structures to help optimize after tax,
risk adjusted, results .Qualifications
- University or College degree in Finance, Business, or Math or
related field. -
- 10+ years experience in the financial services industry with
focus on the more technical aspects of pricing, capital allocation
or Asset/Liability Management related activities.
- Strong influence and persuasion skills, and experience
influencing senior leaders within the company.
- Proven critical thinking skills and ability to appropriately
challenge business leaders.
- Exceptional business understanding of capital markets,
investments, reinsurance, derivatives, insurance products, offshore
captives and highly structured transactions.
- High expertise with using and analyzing S&P, NAIC, Solvency
II, and Economic capital models.
- High expertise in Enterprise Risk Management techniques to
enhance capital allocation and risk versus returns.
- Deep understanding of capital, liquidity, and collateral
processes in the context of a life insurance company.
- Able to structure capital markets transactions. Ability to
brainstorm and alter structures based on generalized knowledge of
insurance accounting, tax, capital, investment, risk, regulatory,
and rating agency treatment.
- Experience with successfully managing projects within a larger
organization and across different disciplines.
- Intellectually curious, creative thinker, excellent
interpersonal skills, and a willingness/desire to be part of a
global team. Preferred Qualifications
- FSA, CFA, MBA or FRM.
- Experience providing strategic solutions to balance sheet
issues within the insurance industry.
- Experience with variable annuities and offshore captives.
Working Environment: Employees will be assigned to one of the
following work location designations:
- In office employees will perform all of their work at a Company
- Hybrid employees will need to work at a Company office location
at times and a remote work location (typically their home) at
- Commuting Remote employees will need to report to a Company
office location at times, but will perform their work primarily
- Non-commuting Remote employees will not be assigned to report
to a Company office location (although they may need to travel to a
Company office upon request) and will perform their work remotely.
